Make Your Own Arcade Video Game: Super Mario Bros

Updated: Aug 7, 2023

🎮🍄🔥 I'm thrilled to announce that I've built a super fun Super Mario Bros game for my students! 🎉🎉

👨‍🏫 As an educator, I'm always looking for new and exciting ways to engage my students and make learning more enjoyable. That's why I created this game, which is designed to help students develop problem-solving skills, improve hand-eye coordination, and have a blast at the same time!

👩‍👧‍👦 Whether you're a student, a teacher, or just a fan of Super Mario Bros, you're sure to love this game. So why not give it a try?

👉 And don't forget to tag me in your posts and stories if you play the game – I can't wait to see what you think of it! #SuperMarioBrosGame #EducationThroughPlay #FunLearning #Gamification #TeachersOfInstagram 🎮👾🌟

When we build games, we become writers, artists, designers, and developers of our own stories!

We are reviving the very classical Super Mario Bros and giving it new life in Makecode Arcade. By designing their own Pixel art and compiling codes, our kids can become a game developer for their own video game.

About this project:

Make your own arcacde style game of increasing difficulty and advancing features from scratch. Spread the fun by publishing your game for friends to enjoy over phones, tablets and computers.

We use Makecode Arcade to guide students through a design thinking process to create their own 8-bit layouts, characters, and art for their game.

Unlike all the other previous Super Mario Bros. games, this project allows players to create their own levels, create enemies and bosses for each level, and set the rules (how much time the play has to beat the level), and even create a storyline. To save the level, the player must successfully finish the level by reaching the flag or defeating the boss.
