Today, we'll learn how to make a Tangram puzzle in Tinkercad, a fantastic, easy-to-use online 3D design tool.
The Tangram is over a thousand years old and was first invented in China during the Song Dynasty. It made its way to Europe in the 19th century, where it became hugely popular. A Tangram is a seven-piece puzzle with simple shapes: 2 big triangles, 1 medium triangle, 2 small triangles, 1 square, and 1 parallelogram. You can arrange these pieces into different designs like animals, letters, and buildings!
Now, it's time to create your very own Tangram in Tinkercad. Here's how:
Open Tinkercad: Head over to www.tinkercad.com and start a new design.
Create Shapes: Use the 'Shapes' panel on the right to drag-and-drop the shapes you need. Remember, we need triangles, a square, and a parallelogram.
Adjust Sizes: Make sure your shapes are the right size. Play around with the handles to adjust them.
Arrange Your Puzzle: Once you've created all seven pieces, arrange them in different ways to bring your designs to life!
